Ugandan security forces have apprehended a high-profile international fugitive, Keith Mugisha, widely known as King Keith, following a coordinated intelligence operation that utilized global law enforcement networks.
Ministry of Internal Affairs spokesperson Simon Peter Mundeyi confirmed the arrest earlier today, noting that the operation was set in motion by multiple reports from members of the public who had observed suspicious behavior.
Some informants even identified themselves as previous victims of the suspect’s alleged criminal activities, prompting authorities to take swift action to remove him from the streets.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Mugisha is a key figure in international criminal syndicates, specifically those involved in the narcotics trade. Information shared by Interpol reveals that the suspect has a significant criminal history abroad, including a prior arrest in Brazil for drug-related offenses.

Reports indicate that while in South America, Mugisha held a Ugandan passport but later acquired Brazilian documentation, which he allegedly used to escape custody and flee back to East Africa. He has since been a wanted individual on international watchlists for drug trafficking, with associates still facing charges overseas.
During the raid, security operatives recovered a sophisticated firearm and several other suspicious materials that have heightened the severity of the case. While Mugisha has claimed that he possesses a valid license for the weapon, officials are currently verifying the authenticity of these documents.
Furthermore, investigators are concerned about inconsistencies in the ammunition found with the suspect, as several rounds appear to be missing, leading to fears that the weapon may have already been used in unresolved criminal incidents within the country.

Adding a more sinister layer to the investigation was the recovery of an unidentified liquid substance suspected to be highly toxic. Forensic experts are currently analyzing the chemical composition of the liquid to determine if it is a lethal poison.
Authorities are pursuing lines of inquiry to establish whether this substance is linked to any mysterious deaths or if it was intended for use in future organized crime hits.

Detectives are working to map out any existing domestic networks to see if the suspect’s alleged narcotics activities have established a foothold within Uganda.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has emphasized that this arrest is a testament to the effectiveness of public vigilance and cross-border cooperation in tackling transnational crime.
As the investigation remains active, the police and international partners are focusing on tracing the missing ammunition and identifying any further accomplices.
Officials have promised to provide the public with more comprehensive details as soon as forensic results and interrogations progress, reaffirming their commitment to neutralizing organized crime elements.
