On June 1st at Velocity Kyanja, Uganda’s Mama D takes her ultimate shot at the longest cookathon Guinness World Record, while Becky Bakes pioneers Africa’s first Bakeathon. Two trailblazing women, one unforgettable nights of endurance, national pride, and culinary history.

Uganda’s food scene is about to witness a powerful double-header as two fearless women step onto the global stage in pursuit of Guinness World Records glory.
On June 1st, the spotlight turns to Velocity in Kyanja, where celebrated cook Mama D will launch what she has called her final attempt at shattering the longest cookathon record.

The target is formidable: 140 hours, 28 minutes, and 28 seconds, currently held by Evette Quoibia. After learning from past challenges, Mama D returns with sharper strategy, better preparation, and unbreakable resolve. For her, this isn’t just about breaking a record  it’s a deeply personal journey of resilience, comeback power, and lifting the Ugandan flag high.

Sharing the stage is rising baking sensation Becky Bakes, who is set to make history as the first African to attempt a Bakeathon for the Guinness World Record. Her goal: surpass the current 47-hour, 11-minute, and 11-second mark set by Irish baker Alan Fisher in Japan. This bold move marks a milestone not only for Uganda but for the entire continent’s baking and culinary ambitions.

Together, Mama D and Becky Bakes represent courage, creativity, and the unstoppable Ugandan spirit. While chasing separate records, they unite on the same platform to inspire a new generation of dreamers and food enthusiasts.
Beyond the timers and challenges, the event at Velocity Kyanja promises a vibrant celebration filled with live cooking, aromatic baking, community energy, and non-stop entertainment. Attendees can expect an electric atmosphere where endurance meets passion and national pride takes center stage.

As June 1st draws near, Uganda stands ready to cheer on its champions. This is more than a record attempt, it’s a declaration that Ugandan talent is ready to claim its place on the world map.
