The systematic dismantling of former Speaker Anita Annet Among’s institutional privileges reached its conclusion on Thursday as the Parliamentary Commission officially recalled the entire official fleet of vehicles assigned to her office.
The dramatic asset recovery operation took place at her private residence in Nakasero, where multiple government-registered SUVs, lead cars, and security escort vehicles were driven out under the supervision of parliamentary transport officers and security personnel.
The fleet recall follows her formal withdrawal from the speakership race earlier this week amid an intense state-led anti-corruption crackdown.
According to administrative sources within Parliament, the swift recovery of the vehicles is standard procedure to facilitate the impending transition of leadership ahead of the May 25 election.

However, insiders note that the visible withdrawal of her official transport and security details underscores her rapid political isolation. This comes just days after anti-corruption detectives cordoned off her premises to impound her controversial Shs3.4 billion privately imported Rolls-Royce.
The logistics department of Parliament has reportedly moved the vehicles back to the central parliamentary parking yard, where they will undergo routine maintenance and inventory checks.
The fleet will remain stationed there until a new Speaker widely expected to be Defence Minister Jacob Oboth-Oboth is officially elected and sworn in by the 12th Parliament.
With her offices currently under forensic search by detectives and her official fleet officially stripped, the administrative transition is moving at an unprecedented pace.
The developments leave the former Speaker with virtually no institutional backing as state agencies continue to widen their audits into the financial management and expenditure patterns of her tumultuous tenure.
