The Ugandan arts and media fraternity has been thrown into deep mourning following the sudden passing of Mrs. Agness Ssenkubuge, the beloved wife of veteran actor, stage dramatist, and radio personality Charles James Ssenkubuge.
The tragic news of her death emerged at the start of the week, triggering a massive outpouring of grief, condolences, and prayers from fans, colleagues, and well-wishers across the country.
According to details shared by close family friend and fellow veteran actor Andrew Benon Kibuuka, Mrs. Ssenkubuge had recently experienced health complications related to fibroids.
She successfully underwent surgery for the condition, was discharged from the hospital, and had been recovering steadily while receiving home-based care. Tragically, when her nurse arrived at the couple’s marital home in Makindye for a routine morning checkup, she discovered that Agness had passed away.
