Journalist Ronald Mulwana Run Over by Prison Van at Ggaba Court

A somber atmosphere has descended upon the Ggaba Community Church grounds after a prison van transporting prime murder suspect Christopher Okello Onyum lost control and rammed into a pack of journalists, leaving one reporter critically injured.

The horrific accident occurred on Wednesday morning, April 15, 2026, just moments before the day’s proceedings in the Ggaba toddler killings trial were set to begin.

According to eyewitnesses and fellow reporters at the scene, the prison van was approaching the makeshift court venue in reverse. A police officer stationed near the entrance also narrowly escaped being hit by the runaway vehicle. While the officer survived the impact, it remains unclear if he sustained any minor injuries during the scramble.

First responders and colleagues acted swiftly to pull Mulwana from beneath the area of the crash. He was rushed to a nearby medical facility for emergency treatment.
