Ugandan socialite and businessman Shakib Cham Lutaaya has firmly rejected social media allegations that he solicits money from women and cheats on his wife, Zari Hassan, during a recent television interview. He described the rumours as disturbing and linked some accusations to an impersonator who previously misused his images.
Ugandan Socialite Shakib Cham Lutaaya has publicly addressed and denied widespread social media rumours accusing him of approaching women with the intent of requesting financial assistance.
In a recent television interview, Lutaaya expressed that the allegations initially left him deeply unsettled. “It disturbed me because I’m a hustler with my personal businesses that give me money,” he stated, emphasizing his self-reliance through multiple ventures that support his lifestyle.
He categorically rejected suggestions that he depends on women for financial support, describing such behaviour as incompatible with his principles. Lutaaya remarked that certain cultural or behavioural traits he observed made the notion implausible for him.
Turning to separate claims of infidelity involving his wife, Zari Hassan, Lutaaya affirmed his commitment to their marriage. “First of all, I’m not a womanizer. I don’t entertain different women, and if I’m in a relationship, I commit,” he said.
He challenged anyone alleging that he had made advances toward them to present verifiable evidence publicly, reiterating his status as a married man who does not pursue romantic interests outside his marriage.
Lutaaya suggested that portions of the rumours may stem from an earlier incident involving an impersonator who used his photographs to contact women and solicit funds. He noted that the matter had been identified and resolved promptly, though residual effects may have contributed to the current speculation.
The interview comes amid ongoing public scrutiny of the couple’s relationship, which has frequently been the subject of online discussions.
