Biswanka Breaks Silence on Deadbeat Father Accusations

Ugandan singer Biswanka responds to public claims of being a deadbeat father, explaining he never wanted the child, provided money for emergency contraception, advised termination, but the mother proceeded with the pregnancy and later sought his support despite earlier public boasts of raising the baby alone.

Fast-rising Ugandan singer Biswanka Derick has publicly addressed long-standing accusations labeling him a deadbeat father, offering his side of a highly publicized co-parenting dispute that has dominated social media for months.

The controversy stems from repeated public statements by Shibah, the mother of his child, who has used platforms like TikTok and various media interviews to accuse Biswanka of impregnating her and then abandoning both her and their baby, failing to provide financial or emotional support.

In a lengthy Facebook post, Biswanka acknowledged paternity but firmly rejected the deadbeat label. He stated that he had never wanted a child at that stage in his life and had taken steps to prevent conception.

According to the singer, after their intimate encounter he gave Shibah money specifically to purchase the emergency contraceptive pill. She allegedly declined to take it. When she later informed him of the pregnancy, Biswanka said he openly advised her to terminate it, citing his unreadiness to become a father. Shibah, he claims, refused and carried the pregnancy to term.

Biswanka went on to express frustration over what he described as mixed messages from Shibah. He alleged that in earlier interviews she repeatedly boasted about single-handedly raising the child and even used the situation to take public swipes at him. Yet, he said, she has continued reaching out for financial help.

“If I clearly tell you I don’t want a kid and you insist because you want to give birth to a child for a celeb… then proceed in the media asking for help,” Biswanka wrote in part. “You ate the pill money, whose fault was that? As a person I also need help, how can I help you? I told you to abort the child and even gave you money, but you instead ate chips.”

The singer emphasized that his objection was never personal but rooted in his lack of readiness and desire for parenthood at the time.
