Bassboi Reveals Only Kapeke Wrote His Own Verse on “Nzalina”

The beatmaker behind Uganda’s hottest collab track “Nzalina,” producer Bassboi, just dropped some juicy studio tea that’s got fans rethinking the star-studded banger.

Fresh off dominating TikTok dances, radio spins, and Spotify playlists, “Nzalina” boasts a killer lineup: Feffe Bussi leading the charge with Winnie Nwagi’s powerhouse vocals, Spice Diana’s silky hooks, Dax Vibez’s smooth flow, and Kapeke’s fresh energy. But Bassboi revealed a twist—only Kapeke penned his own verse, while the rest leaned on ghostwriting magic.

In an exclusive chat, Bassboi credited rising lyricist Nikoly Ten for crafting most of the bars. “Nikoly’s the wizard behind those catchy, heartfelt lines that stick,” he said. “He nailed the vibe for everyone except Kapeke, who locked himself in and wrote his Luganda section raw. That authenticity shines through.”

Kapeke’s self-written part? It’s stealing the show. Social media is buzzing with clips praising his raw delivery as the track’s standout, edging out even Spice Diana’s fan-favorite chorus.

“Fans are calling it the verse of the year—proves writing your own truth hits different,” Bassboi added.

Directed by Elly Mugisha, the video’s colorful chaos has racked up millions of views, blending Afrobeat bounce with Ugandan flair.

As “Nzalina” cements its status as a party essential, Bassboi’s reveal highlights the collab’s secret sauce: a mix of star power and hidden hands.

With streams surging 300% since drop, expect this track to soundtrack New Year’s bashes coast to coast.
