The Kingdom of Busoga has entered a state of double celebration following the birth of Prince Nadiope Ezra Josiah, the third son born to His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope IV, the Kyabazinga of Busoga, and Her Royal Highness Jovia Mutesi, the Inhebantu of Busoga.
The royal baby was born on Sunday, November 1, 2026, creating a remarkable coincidence as the young prince shares his exact date of birth with the Kyabazinga himself.
Official confirmation of the royal birth was released through a formal statement issued by the kingdom’s communications office.
“With immense joy and gratitude to Almighty God, His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope IV, the Kyabazinga of Busoga, and Her Royal Highness Jovia Mutesi, the Inhebantu of Busoga, proudly announce the birth of their third son, Prince Nadiope Ezra Josiah, who was born on 1st November 2026,” read the official declaration published on the Kyabazinga’s verified social media channels.
Shared Birthday and Gratitude
Kingdom officials confirmed that both Her Royal Highness the Inhebantu and newborn Prince Nadiope Ezra Josiah are in excellent health.
The statement highlighted the deep spiritual and cultural significance of the timing, noting that the shared birthday adds extra splendor to the occasion for the Royal Family and subjects across the Obwakyabazinga Bwa Busoga.
Reflecting on the arrival of their third child, the Royal Family cited Psalm 127:3 (“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from Him”), while expressing appreciation to the public.
“The Royal Family extends heartfelt appreciation to the people of Busoga, family, friends, and well-wishers for their prayers, love, and goodwill during this joyous occasion,” the release added.
Expanding Royal Lineage
The birth of Prince Nadiope Ezra Josiah marks another major milestone for the royal couple, who were united in holy matrimony nearly three years ago.
Following their traditional marriage ceremony on September 7, 2023, the couple hosted their historic royal wedding at Christ’s Cathedral Bugembe in Jinja on November 18, 2023.
The newborn is the couple’s third child. The Kyabazinga and the Inhebantu first welcomed twin boys—Prince William Ethan Nadiope and Prince Arnold Eli Nadiope—on August 27, 2025.
The birth of the twins previously elevated the royal couple to the cultural status of Ssalongo and Nalongo, traditional titles bestowed upon parents of twins in Ugandan culture.
