Ugandan TikTok personality Timothy Kayanja, universally known to his fans as ‘Jayden’, has tragically passed away following a prolonged and courageous battle with a severe blood condition.
News of the content creator’s death was broken on Tuesday morning by fellow Ugandan TikToker Sheila Price. The devastating update comes just months after Ugandans rallied nationwide to raise funds for his specialized treatment.
“The sad news we just got at this moment is that Jayden has passed on. It’s such bad news,” Sheila Price shared in an emotional update.
While the exact circumstances and location of his passing were not immediately disclosed pending a formal statement from his family and medical team, his death brings a heartbreaking end to a highly publicized health struggle that united thousands of Ugandans online.

Jayden had lived with sickle cell disease for approximately 20 years. However, his health deteriorated rapidly in late 2025, drawing national attention as he openly documented his medical journey and appealed to the public for financial assistance.
In December 2025, Jayden was rushed to TMR International Hospital in Naalya after developing severe chest pain and breathing difficulties. Medical experts confirmed he was suffering from acute chest syndrome and a vaso-occlusive crisis both life-threatening complications associated with sickle cell disease which caused his oxygen levels to drop dangerously low.
Further medical evaluations revealed a devastating complication: hydroxyurea, a standard medication used to manage sickle cell disease, was actively suppressing his bone marrow rather than providing relief.
Jayden was subsequently diagnosed with aplastic anaemia, a severe condition where the bone marrow fails to produce enough blood cells. Doctors concluded that a costly bone marrow transplant was his only viable treatment option.
The dire diagnosis sparked a massive fundraising campaign spearheaded by fellow content creators, friends, and well-wishers. With treatment estimates ranging from tens to hundreds of millions of shillings for the procedure and post-transplant care, Ugandans contributed generously to save the young star’s life.
There appeared to be a significant breakthrough in July 2026 when Jayden finally underwent the long-awaited bone marrow procedure.
On July 8, media personality Gideon Nova Kwikiriza brought joy to the internet when he announced that the surgery was complete. “This is to inform you all that our very own, our boy Jayden had a successful bone marrow surgery and is both out of theatre and danger,” Kwikiriza stated at the time.
Sadly, Jayden’s passing just over two months later has shocked his support base.
Beyond his health struggles, Jayden will be remembered for building a massive following through his humorous social media content, where he brilliantly highlighted the nuances of everyday Ugandan life and cultural differences.
