Museveni and First Lady Host Bishop Osborn Ahead of Pastor Patience Rwabwogo’s Consecration

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and First Lady Janet Kataaha Museveni have hosted renowned international evangelist Bishop Dr. LaDonna C. Osborn at State House Entebbe.

Bishop Osborn is in Uganda to officially preside over the consecration ceremony of Pastor Patience Rwabwogo, the daughter of the President and First Lady, who will be elevated to the rank of Episcopal Bishop of Covenant Nations Church this coming Sunday, August 23, 2026.

Dr. Osborn, who was accompanied to State House by Pastor Patience, used the courtesy visit to reflect on the historical and spiritual ties her ministry shares with Uganda.

She commended the Museveni administration for the significant transformation the country has undergone over the past four decades, specifically highlighting milestones in peace, education, healthcare, and the freedom of worship and expression.

The upcoming consecration aligns with a massive milestone for Pastor Patience Rwabwogo, marking the 20th anniversary of Covenant Nations Church. What began two decades ago as a small house fellowship in Kampala’s Luzira suburb has steadily grown into an international ministry under her leadership.

First Lady Janet Museveni, affectionately known as Maama Janet, expressed profound joy and gratitude for her daughter’s spiritual journey.

“Your mother and yourself mean a lot to us,” the First Lady told Bishop Osborn, acknowledging the longstanding historical legacy of the Osborn family in Uganda. Reflecting on her daughter’s milestone, she added, “Pastor Patience has a strong relationship with God. When we see Pastor Patience going to be consecrated a Bishop, we cannot thank God enough.”

The consecration ceremony is expected to be one of the most prominent spiritual gatherings of the year, bringing together national leaders, international clerics, and thousands of congregants.

Alongside Bishop LaDonna Osborn, other globally respected spiritual figures are expected to grace the event, including the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Nigeria, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, and his wife, Pastor Folu Adeboye.

The event underscores a growing trend of influential spiritual leadership emerging from Uganda’s First Family, with President Museveni previously noting how proud he was to see his daughter become the first pastor in their family’s 150-year history.
