Gloria Grace Laker, a Diploma in Law student interning at Gulu High Court, has been remanded to prison after allegedly photographing and posting court register entries linked to opposition leader Bobi Wine’s charges.
In a development that’s got tongues wagging in legal and political circles, a law student on attachment at Gulu High Court has landed in hot water — literally remanded to prison — for what prosecutors call an unauthorized snap-and-share of sensitive court info.
The accused is Gloria Grace Laker, who’s pursuing her Diploma in Law at the Law Development Centre and was doing her mandatory clerkship stint at the High Court in Gulu.
On Friday, she stood before Grade One Magistrate Mirriam Amoro facing counts under the Computer Misuse Act for allegedly accessing, photographing, and then posting details from the criminal court register on social media without any clearance.

Gloria Grace Laker, a Diploma in Law student interning at Gulu High Court, has been remanded to prison after allegedly photographing and posting court register entries linked to opposition leader Bobi Wine’s charges.
Court documents show the alleged breach happened between March 6 and 9, 2026. Sources close to the matter say the material Laker is accused of sharing included an entry listing National Unity Platform president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu — better known as Bobi Wine — as facing charges of making false or malicious statements, contrary to Section 25(9) of the Penal Code Act.
Some reports mention an additional note about “making false statement concerning character,” though full details on that case remain thin on the ground. The original complaint was lodged at Gulu Police Station on March 6.
Laker entered a not-guilty plea when the charges were read out. Her defense team, led by lawyer Henry Komakech Kilama, raised eyebrows over why their client had been photographed and fingerprinted during processing, questioning the real intent behind those steps — though he stopped short of naming who exactly handled it.
The state says investigations wrapped up quickly and they’re primed to push the case forward. But Laker’s bid for bail hit an immediate wall: the assigned State Attorney was tied up in a separate High Court criminal session, leaving no one available to respond on the spot.
Magistrate Amoro ordered her remanded until March 17, 2026, when the court will revisit the bail application and map out next moves.
