Jjumba Lubowa Aligaweesa, husband of renowned Ugandan traditional healer and cultural leader Senga Kulanama real name Nabakooza Nezia, has made a heartbreaking public plea, disclosing that his wife is gravely ill with severe liver complications and has been given only months to live.
In an emotional interview, Aligaweesa alleged that Senga Kulanama was poisoned by unknown individuals, leading to liver damage that worsened significantly after the birth of their child last year. Doctors, following a second opinion in Germany after unsuccessful treatments in Uganda, reportedly gave her just three months.

The couple, who have been vocal supporters of the ruling party in past campaigns, sought financial assistance from President Museveni but received no response despite multiple attempts.
“I want them to first take her to the hospital because she will not come from the grave to vote for them,” Aligaweesa said angrily. “And I will not vote either if my wife dies… If my wife unfortunately dies and I bury her, you will have me to contend with. She supported you fully – why abandon her now?”
He revealed that a liver transplant in Germany would cost nearly Ugx 800 million, with five years of follow-up treatment. A recent stay at Nakasero Hospital alone exceeded Ugx 96 million, including multiple blood transfusions.
“I’ve spent so much; I could have been very wealthy, but her illness has drained everything, especially after childbirth. She has even given up hope,” he shared.
Currently bedridden at home and unable to care for herself, Senga Kulanama has drastically reduced public appearances. The family is appealing for urgent support to save her life.
