Swangz Avenue demands UGX 1B + UGX 90M from Zack Maya and McKats for stealing Roast and Rhyme brand for Dubai “Winter Festival”. 7-day ultimatum issued.
Uganda’s music giant Swangz Avenue has dropped a bombshell on Dubai promoter Zack Maya and media star McKats, demanding a jaw-dropping UGX 1 Billion in damages plus UGX 90 Million for legal fees.
The reason? Maya’s Vibes Promotions allegedly hijacked the iconic Roast and Rhyme name, logo, slogan, and entire vibe for his November “Winter Festival” in Dubai. Swangz says it’s blatant theft—and they’re not playing.
Promos under Kats Promotions splashed the same fire-pit graphics, chill-out slogans, and font styles that Swangz has owned for years. High-profile hosts like McKats, Top Boy MC, and Morgan MC were slapped across the ads, making it look like an official Roast and Rhyme spin-off. Swangz calls it “deceivingly similar” and straight-up illegal.

Swangz handed Vibes Promotions a non-negotiable 7-day deadline starting November 1, 2025:
1. Kill the name – Drop “Roast and Rhyme” or anything close from all events.
2. Wipe everything – Delete every poster, post, flyer, and video using the stolen brand.
3. Send proof – Deliver written confirmation of full cleanup to Swangz HQ.
Fail, and the label drags them to court with zero mercy.
