Social media critic Frank Ntambi arrested and remanded to Luzira Prison on August 22, 2025, for cyber harassment after clashing with Jeff Kiwa.
Uganda’s outspoken social media critic Frank Ntambi found himself behind bars today, August 22, 2025, after being arrested and remanded to Luzira Maximum Security Prison. The dramatic turn follows a heated online feud with Team No Sleep’s Jeff Kiwa, sparked last month by Ntambi’s alleged slanderous remarks. Kiwa didn’t hold back, filing a cyber harassment case at Kabalagala Police Station in Kampala under reference SD: 116/25/07/2025, escalating the conflict into a legal showdown.

Ntambi initially complied with a police summons on July 31, 2025, appearing at Kabalagala Police Station to address the accusations tied to his online statements. However, events took a sharp turn when he was detained and hauled before Makindye Court. Charged with two counts under Uganda’s Computer Misuse Act, Ntambi now faces serious legal consequences. The court ordered his remand to Luzira Prison, with his next appearance scheduled for Thursday, August 28, 2025.
The arrest has sent shockwaves through Uganda’s entertainment and social media circles, with posts on X buzzing about Ntambi’s clash with Kiwa, some labeling it a consequence of his vocal critiques, while others see it as a warning to online commentators. Supported by Sheebah Karungi in his legal battle, Ntambi’s case highlights the growing tension between free speech and cyber laws in Uganda.
