Bruno K’s TikTok Fundraiser Nets UGX 12M, Buys Two Motorcycles for Robbed Boda Rider Sharif Mukama

Ugandan artist Bruno K raises over UGX 12 million via TikTok live to buy two new motorcycles for boda boda rider Sharif Mukama after his Bajaj Boxer was stolen by panga-wielding thugs in Makindye’s Boston area.

Ugandan singer Bruno K has once again showcased the power of community spirit by rallying fans on his TikTok live show to raise over UGX 12 million, enabling the purchase of two brand-new motorcycles for Sharif Mukama, a hardworking boda boda rider victimized by armed thieves.

The heart-wrenching saga began when viral videos surfaced on social media Wednesday night, capturing Mukama’s tearful plea for help. He recounted a terrifying ordeal in the Boston area of Makindye, where a seemingly ordinary passenger turned deadly: “As I was handing back change, another man appeared from behind with a panga, ready to attack. I leaped off the bike to save my life, and they sped away with it.”

Mukama explained he had been diligently paying his boss UGX 12,000 daily toward owning the stolen Bajaj Boxer, urging authorities to track it down. The online outcry quickly evolved into calls for a fundraiser, and Bruno K known for his philanthropic online drives swiftly mobilized support during his Ekiboozi TikTok live.

By Friday morning, the generous contributions from well-wishers had surpassed expectations, funding two motorcycles: one as a replacement handed to Mukama’s boss, and the other gifted directly to Mukama to sustain his livelihood and support his family.

Bruno K expressed profound gratitude in a tweet: “Ugandans are so generous and good people. Yesterday, they managed to raise 12 million on my TikTok live for the boda boda guy who was attacked by thieves. Glory to God, 2 boda bodas purchased one for the boss and the other for Sharif Mukama. God bless you, Ugandans.”

Mukama’s overwhelming joy was palpable, while social media users praised the initiative but pressed law enforcement to pursue the culprits. This act highlights Bruno K’s ongoing role in fostering unity and aid through digital platforms in Uganda.
