Reality star Mami Deb shares her journey from celebrating her curves in the UK to facing hate in Uganda, IVF weight gain, and her decision for breast reduction via surrogacy—now loving her fitter, stronger self.
Ugandan reality TV star, entrepreneur, and social media personality Mami Deb (Deborah Cleave) has shared a candid personal reflection on her body transformation, revealing how online hate in Uganda affected her confidence and ultimately led to a major decision.
In a heartfelt post, Mami Deb explained that she had always embraced her naturally large breasts, which were celebrated during her time growing up in the UK. However, after relocating to Uganda, she faced relentless negative comments and body-shaming that intensified over time.

The criticism escalated further during her IVF treatments, which caused hormonal changes, weight gain, and a shift in her physique. For the first time, the hurtful remarks began to affect her deeply, as she admitted to feeling she had “let herself go.”
Describing the emotional challenge, she said letting go of her breasts felt like “giving in,” but opting for surrogacy allowed her to prioritize her health and well-being.
She underwent a successful procedure at Daphne Medical Centre under Dr. Daphne’s care, emerging feeling “lighter, happier, and stronger” with a toned six-pack she is now committed to maintaining.
Mami Deb expressed deep gratitude to her husband Michael, parents Amos and Jemima, friends, and the medical team for their support throughout the process.
Her story highlights themes of self-acceptance, resilience against online negativity, and choosing personal health over societal pressures.
