Daddy Andre Hits Back at ‘Ngenderera’ Double-Sell Claims, Blames Artists’ Poor Communication

Daddy Andre denies double-selling ‘Ngenderera,’ blames artists’ indecision as Twin Jojo’s copyright claim stirs drama.

Ugandan music producer and singer Daddy Andre, real name Andrew Ojambo, fired back at accusations of double-selling the hit song Ngenderera in a local TV interview.

The track, featuring Willar Stary and Kataleya & Kandle, was yanked from YouTube last week after Canadian-Ugandan artist Twin Jojo filed a copyright claim. Andre called out artists for being indecisive and failing to communicate, sparking a heated debate in Uganda’s music scene.

Andre explained his process, saying he sends multiple demo tracks for artists to choose from, but they often don’t follow through. “You can send different demos to artists. They think they own all of them without signing contracts or spreadsheets. They record with someone else without telling me, and suddenly, the song’s out,” he said. He stressed that artists’ lack of clear communication causes mix-ups, not his actions.

The Ngenderera saga exploded when Twin Jojo claimed ownership of the song’s core beats, leading YouTube to pull it down. The track, a fan-favorite since July with over 1 million views, was a breakout for Willar Stary and Kataleya & Kandle.

Twin Jojo accused Andre of selling the same production to him and the collaborating artists, sparking a legal firestorm. The dispute has tarnished Andre’s rep, with social media posts calling it a “betrayal” of trust. The fallout has left both artist camps scrambling to protect their work and image.
