Muhoozi Kainerugaba Calls for Immediate End to Middle East War

Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba prays for swift peace in the Middle East, emphasizing mercy and declaring that “Iranians are God’s children too.” In a heartfelt tweet, he urges an end to the conflict and reflects on power without compassion.

In a rare moment of reflection amid global tensions, Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has publicly called for an immediate end to the ongoing war in the Middle East.

Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Gen Muhoozi described himself as a descendant of Jesus Christ through his Muchwezi lineage and used that spiritual identity to plead for mercy and compassion on all sides.

“I pray that this war ends now,” he wrote. “Iranians are God’s children too. Power without mercy means you’ll never see God.”

The message comes at a time of heightened conflict in the region, with ongoing escalations drawing international concern. Gen Muhoozi’s words stand out for their emphasis on humanity over division, urging leaders and fighters alike to prioritize peace and avoid further suffering.

Gen Muhoozi’s reference to his Muchwezi ancestry and connection to Jesus Christ adds a layer of cultural and spiritual resonance. The Muchwezi are a historically significant clan in the Great Lakes region, often linked in oral traditions to ancient leadership and mystical lineage. By invoking this heritage publicly, he positioned his plea not only as a soldier’s observation but as a descendant’s moral obligation.

The statement also carries weight given his position. As son of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and head of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi’s voice resonates far beyond military barracks.

In a world often dominated by hard power and strategic calculations, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s words serve as a quiet but forceful reminder: mercy is not weakness, and compassion remains one of the few forces capable of transcending borders and battle lines.
