DPP Withdraws Aggravated Trafficking & Defilement Charges Against Don Nasser

The DPP has withdrawn all charges of aggravated trafficking in children and defilement against socialite Nasser Nduhukire alias Don Nasser. The High Court has withdrawn the case, refunded his Shs 3 million bail, and ordered the return of his passport.

The DPP announced the decision this morning during a pretrial hearing before Justice Andrew Bashaija at the International Crimes Division of the High Court.

Nduhukire had been jointly charged with Promise Ateete on counts of aggravated trafficking in children and defilement of a minor.

State Attorney Kyomuhendo informed the court that the DPP has lost interest in prosecuting the matter and tendered a nolle prosequi letter dated February 4, 2026, formally discontinuing the case.

Nduhukire was absent from the proceedings. His lawyer, Evans Ochieng, explained that his client is unwell and unable to attend.

Following the submission of the nolle prosequi, Justice Bashaija has withdrawn the charges against Nduhukire. The court has also ordered the immediate refund of his Shs 3 million cash bail and the return of his passport.

The withdrawal ends the high-profile case that had drawn significant public attention since the charges were first filed. No further reasons for the DPP’s decision were provided in court.
