Ugandan singer Green Daddy real name Vincent Kibalama goes viral with emotional TikTok live rant, blaming Mulago National Referral Hospital staff for negligence that he claims led to his newborn’s death.
In a raw and emotional moment that’s shaking social media, Ugandan musician Green Daddy has turned his deepest personal tragedy into a powerful public cry against what he calls systemic failure at Uganda’s top hospital.
The singer, real name Vincent Kibalama, lost his newborn child in the early hours of February 9, 2026, at Mulago National Referral Hospital. Devastated and furious, he took to TikTok Live from the hospital corridors, capturing the chaos as he confronted staff and poured out his grief to thousands watching online.
Green Daddy described approaching doctors for urgent help as his baby’s condition deteriorated, only to be allegedly dismissed with cold indifference: “Everyone is treated the same here, no matter your status or money.” He claims the child suffered for hours without proper medical attention, and no doctor or nurse responded despite his desperate pleas.

Heartbroken, he declared: “My child died because of negligence. If this happens to someone with a name, money, and a voice like me, what about the ordinary Ugandans? No one cares.” He positioned himself as a voice for the voiceless, vowing to expose the hospital’s shortcomings: “As a musician, one of our jobs is to speak up for those who can’t.”
The viral outburst quickly divided opinions—some praised his courage in highlighting alleged neglect in public healthcare, while others noted the emotional intensity disrupted the hospital environment.
Reports suggest multiple newborns may have tragically passed in similar circumstances that night, fueling broader concerns about staffing shortages and care standards at the national referral facility.
Green Daddy’s pain has ignited fresh conversations about accountability in Uganda’s hospitals, reminding everyone that behind celebrity status lies a grieving father demanding answers. As the video spreads, calls grow for investigations into the incident and urgent reforms to prevent such losses in the future.
