TikToker Luwi Light Remanded to Luzira Prison Over Cyber Harassment Charges; Next Court Appearance January 21, 2026

Popular Ugandan TikToker and content creator Luwi Light real name Aisha Nansubuga has been remanded to Luzira Prison after appearing in court on charges of cyber harassment.

The development follows her arrest on January 13, 2026, and an overnight detention at Kira Police Station. The complainant is renowned musician Bebe Cool, who accuses Luwi Light of using a fake Facebook account to launch repeated online attacks and insults against his wife, Zuena Kirema.

Luwi Light appeared in Court on 14/01/26.

Luwi Light strongly denied the allegations, insisting the disputed account does not belong to her. She has refused to apologize or accept responsibility.

Entertainment critic Frank Ntambi (via social media) described the prosecution as “malicious” and claimed the Facebook page in question was never hers, labeling the case as “pure digital witch-hunting.”

Luwi Light was arraigned shortly after her detention, with the court denying bail or release on bond at this stage. She has been committed to Luzira Prison pending further proceedings.

Her next appearance in court is scheduled for January 21, 2026, where the matter is expected to proceed.

The case has generated significant discussion in Uganda’s entertainment and social media circles, with supporters calling for a fair process while others debate the boundaries of online expression and accountability.

As investigations continue, the outcome could set precedents for handling cyber harassment complaints involving public figures in the country.
