Legendary Ugandan emcee MC Kats announces shock retirement from TV after 23 years to mentor new talent and shift focus to his booming YouTube channel – proving he’s not done entertaining yet!
While hyping the crowd at a buzzing Kampala nightspot, the NBS After5 host revealed he’s hanging up his TV boots next year – not because he can’t hack it anymore, but to pass the torch!
“I’ve served this country for 23 years on TV. I feel it’s enough,” he declared, adding he’s earning a solid $1000 monthly but wants to give hungry young talents their shot at the spotlight.
Starting his iconic journey at just 13 on WBS TV’s Teens Club, Kats became a household name, pioneering entertainment shows on NTV (Xposed) before dominating NBS After5. Over two decades of pure fire – interviews, events, energy!
But don’t cry yet: Kats isn’t vanishing. He’s leveling up his personal platforms, especially YouTube with “MC Kats Talks” for raw, unfiltered discussions. “Find me there next year!”
