Renowned “Baala” singer, Daxx Kartel has firmly closed the door on any political ambitions, telling fans and journalists alike that the microphone will never trade places with a parliamentary seat.
When asked if he ever sees himself contesting, the Omuryeerubah star didn’t mince words: “Let me make this crystal clear — not every artist is cut out for politics. I’m not like the rest. I’m not a loudspeaker for anyone, and politics is not my escape route.”

Daxx stressed that fame doesn’t equal leadership readiness. “I have qualifications. I went to school. Real impact starts with education, not just a stage name.”
He took the moment to pay tribute to his mother, crediting her sacrifice for his education as the greatest gift he ever received. “That foundation shaped me more than any crowd ever could,” he said.

While several Ugandan musicians have jumped into the political ring in recent years, Daxx Kartel is drawing a hard line: his stage is the studio, his constituency is the fans, and his ballot paper is the playlist.
Message received — the “Teacher” hitmaker is staying in class, not Parliament.
