Sasha Ferguson Confirms Divorce from Canary Mugume Amid Domestic Violence Revelations

TV personality Sasha Ferguson has officially confirmed the end of her four-year marriage to journalist Canary Mugume, citing years of physical and emotional abuse as the breaking point.

In a lengthy Instagram post today, Sasha addressed weeks of cryptic hints and fan speculation, revealing she endured bruises hidden under makeup and constant pleas for silence from friends. “I was fed up with being gagged,” she wrote. “Sharing his side would destroy his image, but I’ve chosen my peace and my boys.”

The couple, who wed in a lavish 2021 ceremony after nearly a decade together, share two young children. Sasha says she has taken full custody and relocated abroad for safety. She urged followers to stop tagging her ex on her posts: “It makes co-parenting hell and healing impossible. We’re on separate paths now. I’m doing mom and dad duties solo, and that’s my focus.”

She stressed forgiveness without judgment: “He’s human, not a saint from heaven. No one’s perfect.”

Canary has countered that he is the “unreported victim” of her domestic violence and anger issues, claiming court-granted full custody to him on grounds of her “desertion.” He insists he has been fulfilling fatherly roles despite the challenges.

Skeptics questioned the timing, linking it to earlier paternity rumors she firmly shut down last week, insisting Canary is the father of both children. “No DNA needed, both my babies have one dad,” she affirmed.

With courts involved and emotions running high, this high-profile split continues to dominate headlines as Uganda grapples with domestic violence conversations from all sides.

Her final message to women: “Let go if it hurts. Start over for you and your kids.”
