Latinum Fires Back at Kapeke Over Eddy Kenzo Grammy Criticism

Latinum blasts Kapeke for dissing Eddy Kenzo’s Grammy nomination, tells him to stay in his lane.

The Eddy Kenzo Grammy debate has just gotten messier, with young star Latinum Lati launching a fierce defense of the Big Talent boss after Kapeke publicly questioned the worthiness of his latest nomination.

Kapeke sparked the fire earlier this week when he claimed Kenzo’s “Hope & Love” collaboration was too obscure for a Grammy nod and insisted the only track in Kenzo’s catalog truly deserving global recognition was the 2014 monster hit “Sitya Loss.”

The comment quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions across social media, but Latinum wasn’t here for it.

In a heated response, Latinum told Kapeke to stay humble and stop talking about things beyond his level. “Kapeke should be simple and easy instead of jumping on issues he doesn’t understand,” he said.

“Uncle Eddy is up against international giants in that category. Then you come with your ‘Tema Ensingo’? They’ll just laugh and tell him to take away his rubbish. His songs are strictly bedroom playlists — let him stop disrespecting people who were already stars when he was still in school.”

Latinum’s sharp words have split the fanbase. Kenzo loyalists are praising the young singer for protecting his senior, while Kapeke’s supporters argue he was simply expressing an honest opinion.

The clash highlights the generational tension brewing in Uganda’s music industry as younger artists challenge veterans — and veterans’ allies push back hard.

With the 2026 Grammys still months away, the drama surrounding Kenzo’s second nomination shows no signs of cooling down.
