Bobi Wine Ignores OS Suuna Handshake at Mikie Wine Serena Concert

Bobi Wine ignores OS Suuna’s handshake at Mikie Wine concert after pro-NUP lyrics, sparking online defense over Suuna’s past NRM ties.

Tensions flared at Mikie Wine’s high-energy concert at Kampala Serena Hotel on Saturday when Bobi Wine, the NUP leader and presidential hopeful, publicly ignored a handshake from performer OS Suuna.

The moment unfolded during OS Suuna’s set of his track “Emmala.” To win over the crowd, Suuna ad-libbed lyrics praising Bobi Wine’s political fight and NUP’s push for change. Bobi, seated front row, bobbed his head in apparent approval as the performance peaked.

But when Suuna extended his hand for a post-song dap, Bobi turned away, eyes fixed elsewhere. The venue erupted in gasps and shouts, with Suuna flashing an awkward grin before cutting his set short and exiting stage left.

Social media exploded immediately, with many Ugandans defending Bobi’s cold shoulder. “Suuna’s clapped for NRM before—why expect a pass now?” one X user posted, citing past clips of the singer downplaying Bobi’s campaigns on pro-government shows. “Loyalty test passed,” another added.

Bobi Wine, eyeing a 2026 rematch with Museveni, has long called out flip-flopping allies. The snub underscores his no-nonsense stance amid a polarized scene where artists often straddle lines for gigs.

Mikie Wine’s show, packed with hits and guest spots, rolled on undeterred, but the viral clip has dominated headlines, fueling debates on politics in entertainment.
