Ava Peace Calls Out Church Leaders for Harshly Judging Others

TNS singer Ava Peace real name Maureen Peace Namugonza is calling out church leaders for throwing shade without facts. In a fiery interview with a local TV station, she slammed a pastor who labeled Sheebah Karungi’s pregnancy “devilish.” “I don’t think that was right,” Ava said.

“You’ve already planted negativity in people’s minds. That’s trauma, imagine being called devilish while carrying your baby,” she said. Ava pictured Sheebah and the dad crushed by one sermon.

Ava’s sharpest warning was about influence. “For the public, they take what they hear from their leaders. It was offensive,” she said, pointing out how deeply Ugandans trust their pastors. In a country where church attendance is sky-high and spiritual leaders shape moral views, a single sermon can shift public opinion overnight.

That blind faith, Ava argued, turns into a weapon when wielded carelessly. She called the incident not just wrong but dangerous, a misuse of power that misleads congregations and breeds division. “I find it extremely uncomfortable in church,” she concluded, revealing her personal conflict, she respects faith, but not when it’s used to tear people down.
