Rising star Gloria Bugie calls out Ugandan pastors for abusive language in sermons, urges better examples for churchgoers.
Uganda’s rising music star Gloria Busingye, popularly known as Gloria Bugie, didn’t hold back in a recent interview with a local TV station.
She blasted pastors and apostles who sprinkle insults into their church sermons, questioning their lack of self-control. The Panama singer said such behavior is far from the leadership expected of religious figures.

Bugie stressed that pastors should either use kind words or stay silent. “It’s not that we expect pastors or apostles to be perfect, but at least they should try to lead by good example,” she said.

The singer also expressed shock at congregants who sit through abusive sermons without blinking. “I wonder whether the people who go to such churches are blind because what don’t they see?” she said.
Bugie’s frustration highlights her belief that attendees should demand better from their leaders. Her comments are stirring debate about why some tolerate disrespectful preaching.
