Eddy Kenzo addresses rumors of fallout with Bebe Cool over NRM campaign artist picks, stresses fairness for regional talents in Uganda music.
Ugandan music boss Eddy Kenzo is setting the record straight on whispers of a clash with Bebe Cool over NRM campaign shows.
Social media lit up with claims that Kenzo blocked central artists from more gigs, favoring regional ones for fair pay. The buzz grew after Bebe, handling artist bookings, seemed sidelined.

Kenzo said his push was for balance, not beef. “Imagine artists from Buganda perform five times, while those from the North do twenty—would that be fair?” he asked.
He wanted regional talents to shine at home gigs, letting central stars join as extras. This inclusivity boosts confidence and unity, he added. His goal is to grow the whole industry, not just a few.

By giving upcountry artists local spots, Kenzo believes they gain fans and cash without traveling far. “What I wanted was for artists in those regions to get the chance to perform in their areas,” he explained.
