UMA president Cindy Sanyu reveals she missed Yoweri Music Album launch due to a show, thought it was an industry meeting with Museveni.
Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) president Cindy Sanyu has shared why she didn’t attend the Yoweri Music Album launch. The event, graced by President Museveni at Speke Resort Munyonyo on September 28, 2025, featured campaign songs by the National Musicians Federation (NMF). Cindy said she was told it was a meeting to fix industry problems. But she had a show and couldn’t go.

In a local TV interview, Cindy said the call came as UMA president to discuss big issues. “They called and informed me that we were going to have a meeting to discuss the issues in the industry, for the good idea as UMA president but I couldn’t attend because I had a show,” she explained. She had no clue it was an album launch.

Cindy stressed she cares about what the federation does for artists, not the venue. She revealed UMA and UNMF are teaming up on key things like copyright laws and pushing for better support. “I don’t mind about the Federation’s venue but only care about what the federation does to protect my art,” she noted. Their partnership aims to help musicians.
Cindy said she skips things that could upset her fans. “There are certain things I don’t do especially if I find that it will hurt my fans,” she added. This shows her deep care for supporters.
