Fik Gaza Spills Why He Swapped NUP for NRM

Fik Gaza shares why he left NUP after fan backlash and says he’ll perform for any party, including NRM.

Ugandan singer Fik Gaza got real about his political stance in a TV interview on October 1, 2025. He revealed why he never returned to the National Unity Platform (NUP) after feeling pushed out. Fans turned on him after he posed for a photo with events promoter Balaam Barugahara. The harsh criticism left him feeling unwelcome.

Gaza said NUP supporters attacked him online, accusing him of betrayal for the Balaam photo. “They started pointing fingers at me. I found myself trending and being abused, saying I was bribed, so I crossed,” he explained. The backlash made him feel out of place in NUP. He decided to step away to protect his peace.
