Hon. Geoffrey Lutaaya responds to daughter Mellan’s TikTok claims of neglect, denies abandoning her, and pleads for family unity.
Hon. Geoffrey Lutaaya opened up in a phone interview addressing his daughter Mellan’s viral TikTok claims that he neglected her. The singer-turned-politician confirmed Mellan is his daughter but said her public outcry was pushed by people with bad intentions. He shared that he paid her full tuition at Stella Marris, Nsuube, believing it was a good school for her.
Lutaaya explained that Mellan’s mother pulled her from Stella Marris, unhappy with the school. Mellan, now 17 and an S.4 candidate, was expelled from another school for attacking a teacher. The school allowed her back only for exams, not classes. Lutaaya said he paid 1.96 million for her new school but learned of the expulsion from another parent, not her mother. He felt left out of key updates.

Mellan’s TikTok video accused Lutaaya of skipping her school fees and ignoring her calls, court efforts, and third-party talks. Lutaaya denied abandoning her, saying he’s been blocked from spending time with her. He wants to bring her home and introduce her to her clan. “I’ve cared for other kids; my own won’t fail me,” he said, pushing for a family fix.
