Bobi Wine dismisses comparisons with Jose Chameleone and Bebe Cool, embraces humility, and eyes a music comeback at Ugandan Fest.
Uganda’s music icon and politician Bobi Wine has boldly shut down the long-standing “Big Three” narrative pinning him against fellow artists Jose Chameleone and Bebe Cool. While supporting his brother Dax Vibez during rehearsals for the upcoming Ugandan Fest in London, where he’ll perform alongside Nubian Li at Modern Park, Bobi spoke candidly to BBS TV on August 28, 2025. Rejecting the industry’s obsession with ranking, he paid homage to legends like Herman Basudde, Phily Lutaaya, and Paul Kafeero, insisting they outshine the so-called “Big Three.”

“I don’t buy into that selfish idea that Ugandan music began with us,” Bobi declared. “We learned from giants before us. I’m past the era of self-praise—I don’t want to be big; I want to be real. Call me the real one.” His call for humility over hype resonated deeply, emphasizing authenticity over accolades. Bobi’s words, paired with his unwavering fanbase, have sparked a frenzy on X, with supporters lauding his grounded perspective.
Despite his political battles limiting his performances, Bobi’s passion for music remains unshaken. “My music connects because it’s real, born from my soul,” he said. “Once the barriers are lifted, I’ll return bigger than ever—I haven’t changed.” As he prepares for Ugandan Fest, his defiance and talent promise a comeback that could shake Uganda’s music scene.
