Minister Balaam Barugahara demands Abdul Ssekajja’s arrest for alleged defilement and child neglect, warning Chosen Becky of potential victimization.
In a dramatic turn of events, Uganda’s Minister of State for Youth and Children’s Affairs, Balaam Barugahara, has issued a stern arrest order for photographer Abdul Khadir Ssekajja, the recent fiancé of gospel singer Chosen Becky. On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, Balaam summoned Ssekajja to his office by Wednesday, threatening police action if he fails to comply. The order stems from serious allegations of defilement and child neglect leveled by 19-year-old Rashida from Semuto, who claims Ssekajja fathered her two children.

At a fiery press conference, Rashida revealed she was only 16 when she gave birth to their first child, with their second, now 18 months old, also neglected. “The kids have nothing to eat, they’re not in school,” she said, accusing Ssekajja of cutting off communication and support after forbidding her from working. Balaam, visibly outraged, labeled Ssekajja “foolish” and vowed justice. “He must be arrested for defilement and child neglect,” the minister declared, emphasizing his commitment to protecting vulnerable children.
Balaam also issued a stark warning to Chosen Becky, whose engagement to Ssekajja on August 5, 2025, captivated fans. “Becky risks being victimized by this man,” he cautioned, urging her to reconsider her ties.
