Kapeke Faces Theft and Vandalism Charges After Chaos at St. Peter’s Bombo School Event

Ugandan dancehall star Kapeke charged with theft and malicious damage after a violent clash at St. Peter’s Bombo event. Full story unfolds!

Ugandan dancehall sensation Derrick Nsubuga, better known as Kapeke, is embroiled in a legal storm following a chaotic incident at a high school prom party. The artist faces serious charges of theft and malicious damage, as filed by prominent events promoter Juko Muhammad, aka 16 Promotions, at Bombo Police Station under case reference SD REF: 53/19/17/2025.

The drama unfolded at St. Peter’s Bombo, Kalule S.S.S, where 16 Promotions had booked Kapeke for a 4 PM performance. According to reports, Kapeke arrived hours late, showing up at 7 PM as the event was nearing its end, with his phone unreachable throughout the day. When confronted about his tardiness and unprofessional conduct, tensions escalated. 16 Promotions claims Kapeke’s entourage turned aggressive, threatening violence and sparking a heated altercation.

The situation spiraled further after Kapeke’s brief performance, with 16 Promotions alleging that the artist’s gang stole his money and vandalized his car near Bombo market, including smashing its windshield and taking a camera. School security intervened to prevent students, frustrated by Kapeke’s delay, from escalating the chaos further.

Through his legal team, 16 Promotions is demanding full compensation for the damages and losses incurred. The case has ignited a firestorm on social media, with fans debating Kapeke’s actions and the safety of artists at school events. Will Kapeke resolve the dispute with 16 Promotions, or is a courtroom battle on the horizon? As this saga unfolds, Uganda’s music scene braces for the fallout.
