Jose Chameleone reschedules his concert to avoid clashing with Fik Fameica’s Sept 5 show, urging fans to support the young star at Lugogo.
In a heartfelt move, Ugandan music legend Jose Chameleone has announced he’s stepping aside to give rising star Fik Fameica the spotlight for his concert on September 5, 2025, at Lugogo Cricket Oval. Initially, both artists had scheduled shows on the same date, sparking concerns among fans about the clash. Chameleone, however, has chosen to reschedule his event, showcasing his commitment to nurturing the next generation.
In a candid video shared across his social media platforms, the Leone Island boss expressed his deep love for Uganda’s music industry and his desire to see young talents thrive. Addressing the scheduling conflict, Chameleone praised Fik Fameica’s artistry, calling him “a very talented artist and a big star.” He explained that holding his concert on the same day would feel “greedy and unfair,” given the unwavering support he’s received from Ugandans for over 20 years.
“Fik Fameica chose his date without stepping on anyone’s toes, and unfortunately, my show clashed with his,” Chameleone said. “I’ve made a big decision to move my concert to another date.”
He urged his fans and music lovers to rally behind Fik Fameica and pack Lugogo Cricket Oval to make the young star’s day unforgettable.
The announcement follows news that Chameleone’s promoter, Abitex, pulled out of the original concert due to disagreements over fees, adding another layer to the decision. Chameleone’s selfless gesture has won praise online, with fans applauding his mentorship and respect for the industry’s future. Will this move strengthen unity in Uganda’s music scene? As Fik Fameica prepares for his big moment, Chameleone’s class act sets a powerful example.
